Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in Lowville, NY, on a dairy
farm. I lived there for 21 years then moved to
nearby Carthage where I spent the next 20 years
raising my daughter, Jenn, and son, Mike, and
working for the local school district.
When did you begin working at WAER?
I began working at WAER in April of 2005. This is
my first time in radio and my first time living in
Central New York! I love this area!
What do you do at WAER?
As Development Assistant, I help with membership and
corporate support. I also do trafficking.
What was the most unusual job you ever had?
You know, I've never had an unusual job, although I
have fulfilled some unusual roles in my ordinary
jobs. One that comes to mind is the time I was
working in the school office. One day one of the
teachers came in to tell me there was a dead bat on
the sidewalk outside. One of the children had
touched the bat and she was worried the bat might
have rabies. I had to make some calls to find out
the proper procedure for dealing with a dead bat and
getting it checked out. Turns out, the local vet's
office checks bats for rabies. I had to summon our
maintenance personnel to transport the bat to the
local vet's office. The story has a happy ending -
the bat wasn't rabid. And so ended my tour on "Bat
Patrol."
Why do you love public radio?
I love public radio because it's something people
still have a say in. Public radio represents what
people want and what they value.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy gardening, walking, biking, and watching
movies and HGTV! Most of all I love time spent with
family...my special guy, Glenn, our parents, and my
kids.
What is your favorite quote?

I need to know I learned in kindergarten." ~
