New York State is holding a “Ski for Free”sweepstakes in an effort to get children vaccinated and adults boosted this winter. New Yorkers ages five to 11 who have received their first vaccine dose or fully vaccinated adults who have received a booster shot are eligible to receive free lift tickets at participating New York ski mountains.

"Our new 'Ski for Free' incentive for children and booster recipients allows New Yorkers to take full advantage of our state's incredible mountains while protecting themselves and their loved ones from this pandemic," Governor Hochul said. The governor maintained her message that vaccines are the best tool for fighting the pandemic.

Ski areas in Western and Eastern New York are participating in the sweepstakes, and drawings will be evenly split between the two regions. Children who win tickets will receive two: one for them and their parent or guardian, and adults will receive a singular pass. Winners will be able to use their ticket at any point during the 2021-2022 winter season at any participating ski area in the state.
