While the COVID positivity rate for the state of New York has remained under 2% for nearly two weeks, 21 deaths from the virus were reported on Tuesday.
New York State Governor Kathy Hochul said on Wednesday she is pleased that people continue to get vaccinated and encouraged parents to vaccinate their children and loved ones.
Additionally, nearly 1,400 people are hospitalized with the virus, including 153 new admissions.
