Onondaga County has a new park. County executive Ryan McMahon Tuesday officially opened Otisco Lake Park on the southern end of the lake.
It’s 35 acres includes shoreline access, walking trails, and a small parking area. The space is minimally developed to allow park visitors to appreciate a more natural setting along the lake.
"We have been especially aggressive with expanding County parkland to include shoreline access because it is so limited, and it can serve as both a public asset and a protective measure for our local waters," County Executive Ryan McMahon said.
The park property was acquired by the county through a partnership with the Finger Lakes Land Trust and the state DEC.
