A celebration of the Syracuse University men's soccer team's National Championship has been canceled Friday.
The event has been canceled due to extreme cold weather in the area, said a city news release. A warning from the National Weather Service for "dangerously low wind chills," which could be as low as -30 degrees, is in effect through early Saturday morning.
The event was scheduled to take place at the Salt City Market at 3:45 p.m, but will now be rescheduled for a later date.
Tthe Syracuse men's soccer team clinched the NCAA title in December. The team took home the championship with an 8-7 victory in penalty kicks over Indiana.
