Syracuse Speaks-Syracuse's Changing Food Identity

Kevin Kloss
/
88.3 FM WAER

The food scene in Syracuse is quite different from what it was even 5 years ago. Take Syracuse’s downtown dining week for example: Back in 2015, 26 restaurants participated. This year, there are 46.

With all of these additions and changes to where Central New Yorkers go out to eat, it brings up the area’s food identity. What is Syracuse’s traditional food identity and how is it changing? How do changing demographics affect restaurants?

Joining us for this discussion is Eden's Rich Strub, Salt City Market's Adam Sudmann, and Syracuse.com food writer Jacob Pucci.

Also, we take a stroll around downtown Syracuse in the middle of Downtown Dining Week to see what it takes to last in a changing food scene and how Syracuse's dining options are changing.
