The lowered national gas price this year comes as a relief from last year’s ultimate highs in pricing.

Drivers in the Syracuse area continue to get a break at the gas pump. The average price of a gallon of gas has fallen for the sixth week in a row.

The average cost is around $3.34 to $3.41 a gallon in surveys done by GasBuddy.com and AAA. That’s down a nickel from last week and about 16 cents lower than a month ago.

Analysts say low prices for crude oil and decreasing demand should continue the downward trend. Also, winter-blend fuel – which is cheaper – is hitting gas pumps later this month, and that should further ease prices.
