Gov. Kathy Hochul speaks Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at a virtual meeting of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York to address recent court rulings limiting access to medication abortions.

Many of those who have entry level training positions in state jobs will be getting a pay raise.

“These pay increases will allow us to retain and attract our state agency and government employees, so that we can continue our mission to bring the highest quality support New Yorkers expect and deserve, now and into the future.”
Governor Kathy Hochul

Governor Kathy Hochul says about 2,100 employees who hold what are called professional traineeships will receive either a 5.7% pay hike or an 11.6% raise depending on their title.

Hochul says this is an effort to attract and retain state agency and government workers.
