New York’s Green Party expressed disappointment with Governor Kathy Hochul’s State of the State proposals, criticizing the lack of bold solutions to address the state’s challenges.

New York’s Green Party was less than impressed with Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposals during her State of the State message saying she failed to lay out bold action for the multiple crises facing the state.

The Green Party is calling for such things as ballot access reform, ranked choice voting, and statewide single payer universal healthcare. They’re also seeking housing reforms such as rent control and construction of a million units of publicly owned social housing.

The party says it opposes Hochul’s steps towards nuclear power. They add the governor failed to adequately address the affordability crisis in the state.
