When the pandemic struck the United States in 2020, many of us were forced to adjust the way we work. Some of us were forced to work remotely, while others were simply told not to come to work. This seismic shift to our everyday routines also provided an opportunity to examine work under a larger microscope. In the next iteration of City Limits, we will look at the dilemma surrounding work in Central New York. Have we become so accustomed to remote work that its become our new normal? Are the things that have kept us at specific jobs as important now as they were pre-pandemic? And are job training programs effectively preparing individuals to enter the work force?
