Pop Life: The Intersection of Sports and Social Advocacy

On this episode of Pop Life, Kendall Phillips chats with Dr. Abraham Khan. Abraham is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Arkansas, specializing in the study of popular culture with an emphasis on the relationship between sports and racial politics in the US.

Kendall and Abraham discuss the long standing relationship between sports and popular culture, some of the earliest athletes to use their platform for activism, and whether increased salaries have increased or decreased the likely of athletes speaking awardable regarding social advocacy.
