Boeheim Will Coach Tomorrow Against Duke

Cuse.com

Following the incident with Jim Boeheim, he will still be coaching against the Blue Devils. After
Coach Boeheim had struck a pedestrian with his car, it was uncertain if he would coach on
Saturday. However, Syracuse’s athletic director, John Wildhack, announced that the Hall of
Fame coach will resume his coaching duties.

The Orange might be short handed on the coaching staff, Duke will be shorthanded on the bench.
The top recruit out of high school, Zion Williamson, has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game
with a mild knee sprain. The injury occurred during a freak play just 33 seconds into the game
against UNC on Wednesday. As Zion attempted to avoid a defender, his shoe broke in half and
caused him to fall in an uncomfortable position that led to his exit. Zion scored 35 points against
the Orange that last time these tow teams faced off in January.

The Syracuse Orange (18-8, 9-4) are coming off a dominate outing against #18 Louisville. The
zone, three points shooting, and rebounding all came together for the Orange Wednesday night.
In a 20 points victory, four Syracuse players scored double digits in points. Leading the way was
Elijah Hughes with 18, including four field goals beyond the arc; and Oshae Brissett 16, and a
game high 8 rebounds.

On the other side, the Blue Devils (23-3, 11-2) are coming off a rare loss against UNC. Once
Zion left the game, Duke began to crumble without their big man in the paint. UNC then started
to play a zone defense which forced Duke to shoot threes. As a result, Duke struggled and could
not produce a high powering offense that they are used to.

Last time out, the Orange defeated the Blue Devils by a score of 95-91 in overtime down in North Carolina.

Last time out, the Orange defeated the Blue Devils by a score of 95-91 in overtime down in
North Carolina. The Orange are expecting a record-breaking crowd for Saturday’s game, an edge
that could prove beneficial in a close game. With Jim Boeheim at the helm, the Orange will be at
full strength, and confident having already beat a ranked team earlier this week.

NFL star Rob Gronkowski will also be attending Saturday’s matchup. Gronk’s dad played
football at Syracuse and has a connection to a local businessman. As a result, Gronk was offered
two courtside tickets for the Duke Syracuse game.
