Local business leadership organization, Centerstate CEO, wants the community to work together and ask more questions before settling on a solution for the new I-81 viaduct through Syracuse. Centerstate C-E-O is laying out principles and priorities for the one-billion dollar decision that will impact the area for the next 75 years or more.
Centerstate CEO's principles for the future of I-81:
- Unifying the City, and linking the economic engines throughout Syracuse and the suburbs
- Convenient access to the city for residents, commuters, and visitors
- Safety and walkability
- Considerations for mass transit
- Phased construction to help minimize disruption during the project
These principles and questions will come before six Department of Transportation public comment sessions to be held over the next three months. Centerstate CEO is encouraging people to submit their questions and concerns through Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag: #81Questions.
