The Cuomo Administration continues to urge people to remain at home as the total of statewide COVID-19 cases reached 37,258 Thursday, representing an increase of 6,448 cases spread out across 39 counties.  The virus has claimed the lives of 385 in the state.

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul spoke with WAER Morning Edition Co-Host John Smith about the pandemic and how the Governor continues to ramp up efforts to ensure there are enough hospital beds and medical resources.  She also is stressing how we can all stop the spread.

John Smith has been waking up WAER listeners for a long time as our Local Co-Host of Morning Edition with timely news and information, working alongside student Sportscasters from the Newhouse School.
