NE Jazz & Wine Festival Announces Lineup

CNY Jazz held a press conference today at CNY Jazz Central to reveal the 2013 NE Jazz & Wine Festival lineup.  Taking place in Clinton Square July 26-27, the festival will again feature two days of free jazz, smooth jazz and R&B programming on three stages.  Living up to its name, the 2013 NE Jazz & Wine Festival will continue the tradition of offering educational wine tasting courses in the Wine Tasting Pavilion.

Headliners include the return of bassist Gerald Veasley, named “Best Electric Bassist” in Jazziz magazine’s annual readers’ poll, guitarist Gil Parris and keyboardist Michael Wolff.  Veasley performs on the 27th at 8:15 PM and will lead Parris and Wolff in an all-star jam later at 10:00 PM.
Attendees will also enjoy the sounds of local R&B group Atlas, emerging smooth jazz group Blowin’ in the Wind and electric power trio Squid led by CNY Jazz alumnus Noah Kellman.

“The Northeast Jazz and Wine Festival continues to provide Syracuse with one of the most diverse, family-friendly, and exciting festivals in our city’s calendar”, says festival organizer and CNY Jazz Central Executive Director, Larry Luttinger.
