NPR Media Correspondent David Folkenflik has New Role, Visits Syracuse Oct. 15th.

What are the business implications behind mergers of communicaitons giants?  How has coverage of sexual harassment scandals of media figures and the #MeToo movement impacted victims who consider coming forward?  And what about White House coverage in an age of sometimes-illusive truth?  David Folkenflik gets to ask - and answer - those questions as Media Correspondent for NPR.  

His work is heard on WAER, during Morning Edition, All Things Considered and Here & Now.  Listeners can also hear Folkenflik on his latest assingment, as host of On Point.  He visits Syracuse University for an event Monday, Oct. 15th, hosted by WAER and the Newhouse School of Communications (info below).

Folkenflik is also author of the book Murdoch's World: The Last of the Old Media Empires, as well as articles in The Washington Post, Newsweek, and other publications.

Chris Bolt, Ed.D. has proudly been covering the Central New York community and mentoring students for more than 30 years. His career in public media started as a student volunteer, then as a reporter/producer. He has been the news director for WAER since 1995. Dedicated to keeping local news coverage alive, Chris also has a passion for education, having trained, mentored and provided a platform for growth to more than a thousand students. Career highlights include having work appear on NPR, CBS, ABC and other news networks, winning numerous local and state journalism awards.
