Onondaga County lawmakers approved a non-binding resolution Tuesday telling the state to make immediate changes to the criminal justice reforms that took effect January 1.  They include returning discretion to judges to impose bail for certain crimes, and for the state to fund the additional cost of implementing mandates under the reforms.

Onondaga County lawmakers Tuesday gave their final approval to a $1.33 billion budget that lays out the county’s priorities for next year.

Onondaga County lawmakers moved a little closer Friday to approving next year’s county budget.  The Ways and Means committee approved a number of mostly minor changes to the county executive’s $1.3 billion  spending plan.

"She brought over a good, solid budget.  There were absolutely no hatchets or chainsaws; it was literally a scalpel to trim a little here and there to address some of our priorities."
