Former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner has decided to run for New York Governor after all.  The New York Times was first to report her independent campaign on Monday.  Since last fall, Miner had said she was mulling a run for governor or Congress but hadn't made a decision.

Another candidate has announced they will challenge Andrew Cuomo for Governor. This time it’s Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, who offered a political indictment of Cuomo’s practices and temperament in office.

The Libertarian candidate for governor is spending time this week in Upstate New York positioning himself as a viable third option in November’s election.  Larry Sharpe told WAER News in an interview he feels the time is right for many voters to get away from two-party thinking.

Sharpe is looking to flip the script on New York’s government from Left or Right, which he says just makes people angry.  And he says he’s fine this election with being the Anti-Cuomo.
