The 2020 Primary in New York this year fell in the midst of a global pandemic and a reckoning on police brutality in America. Voting by mail occurred in record numbers due to the threat of COVID-19 and youth in Syracuse led rallies for the current racial justice movement.

Voters in this year’s local elections don’t have to wait until Election Day to cast their ballots. For the first time, early voting is an option in Onondaga County and throughout the state, after New York lawmakers passed it into law earlier this year.
Early Voting starts in New York for the first time this Saturday and will run through November 3rd.
