Helping young people, reducing incarceration, and better health care are issues The NAACP of Syracuse and Onondaga County calls “Game Changers” for our community.  The group has laid out its action agenda for the year.  WAER’s Chris Bolt went to the annual report to the community and has more details.

A band of local Syracuse residents went door to door in the 'Get Out the Vote' Walk on Sunday. But they weren’t celebrating anything. The non-partisan group marched down the 2nd and 5th election districts in the 19th ward of Syracuse, trying to convince people to vote.

With midterm elections less than two months away, local organizations are trying to get those in Syracuse who typically don’t vote to cast a ballot. September 25th is National Voter Registration day, and grassroots initiatives in Syracuse are leading efforts to increase voter turnout with the support of the Gifford Foundation.
