On the finale of Talkback, host Cooper Boardman looks back at the five decades of WAER and Syracuse alumni who have been interviewed for this podcast. Since April, 52 play-by-play announcers, TV anchors and talk show hosts have explained what SU meant to them and the path they took after leaving the Hill. This episode, begins in 1968 with Len Berman and ends this past March with 2020 Sports Director Jack McMullen. Along the way, we look back at the common lessons learned during the pandemic and across generations who all came through WAER.

Syracuse basketball might have ended the 2018-19 season with a quick exit from the NCAA tournament, but exciting times are ahead thanks to both new and returning players.  Among them will be Glens Falls guard Joe Girard, a 6’1” high-scorer who will add shooting.  Another shooting guard, Brycen Goodine from Rhode Island will also add scoring; he’s a member of ESPN’s top 100 recruits for the coming year.  The Orange will also expect to get some minutes and production out of 6’10” John Bol Ajak from Pennsylvania at center and 6’7” forward Quincy Guerrier from Canada at forward.  The most recen

Each year when March rolls around it's easy to get caught up in the frenzy that is March Madness. Is the basketball team on the bubble? Can they reach the Sweet Sixteen this year? At times it can be easy to forget there is another perennial athletic powerhouse in the midst of their season.

Fans of Syracuse University Sports will have to make some changes the next time they go to see a game on campus.  WAER’s Chris Bolt explains how officials are trying to educate the public about new security measures.

Syracuse University is investing $118 million dollars to replace the existing Carrier Dome roof and other upgrades that should be ready by Football season 2020 and provide a stadium-like experience.  Over the weekend the University’s Board of Trustees signed-off on the plan to install the suspended roof and updates inside.  Athletic Director John Wildhack says the focus is on students and the fan experience.

The Orange Men's Basketball team is done dancing after a tense matchup with No. 2 seed Duke, ending with a final score of 69 - 65. All hopes of an upset to parallel Syracuse’s 2016 run to the Final Four were dashed as the Blue Devils pulled ahead in the second half of Friday’s game.

  Both teams appeared evenly matched for the duration of the first half. No. 11 seed Syracuse made eight of their first 12 shots, getting out to a 17 - 14 lead early in the game.
