Fans took their seats in the Carrier Dome to watch Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse put on a show, and that is exactly what happened. The Orange completely dominated Holy Cross on Saturday 15-6.

After a rocky opening day for fifth-ranked Syracuse men’s lacrosse, it seems as though the team has found its footing. The Orange have won three-straight games possessing one of the most potent scoring attacks in the country and a defense that seemed to take strides against Stony Brook, surrendering just nine goals and 23 shots on goal last Saturday. But, a chance to win four consecutive contests almost didn’t happen this week with an unidentified member of Hofstra testing positive for Covid-19.

There were no fans this time around for the Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse game. Nevertheless, SU handled business on Friday, downing Stony Brook 17-9.

A federally-funded vaccine clinic run by Syracuse Community Health Center could improve the lagging vaccination rates within some Syracuse zip codes. Senator Chuck Schumer announced Thursday $32 billion would be allocated to community health clinics across New York State to operate as points of distribution and supplied directly by the federal government.

Three games in, it seems seventh-ranked Syracuse men’s lacrosse is still trying to figure itself out. It has one of the best midfield lines in the nation, one of the best attack lines in the nation, but the biggest question mark for this team is the defense. SU was gassed against Army, stellar against Virginia when it held UVA to zero goals in the fourth quarter, but made some fans second guess themselves after Vermont.

Despite all that, head coach John Desko thinks the Orange defense played just fine in Saturday’s 17-13 win over the Catamounts.

More people will soon be able to get vaccinated to prevent COVID-19. Governor Andrew Cuomo visited Syracuse Tuesday to explain the expanded guidelines. The event also made a push to alleviate fears and mistrust about the vaccine.

It was the first time in exactly 364 days that there were fans present for the Syracuse men’s lacrosse game.

SU hosted first-time opponent Vermont in the Dome and narrowly won 17-13. The difference came from both upperclassmen and underclassmen. Redshirt fifth year Stephen Rehfuss and Freshmen Owen Hiltz combined for 13 points to lead the effort for Syracuse.
