The New YorkState Board of Elections says the 22nd Congressional District race between Republican Brandon Williams and Democrat Francis Conole is still close nearly one week after Election Day.

As of Friday night, Williams was leading with over 3,900 votes. Across the district in three counties, there is a total of nearly 3,000 votes pending. Almost another 3,900 are pending consideration, but it could be enough to tip the scale in either direction for the candidates.

The 22nd Congressional District covers multiple counties, and Oswego County did not provide a voting tally update on Friday. Absentee ballots postmarked on Election Day will still be counted if they arrive within one week after polls close.
