Syracuse police say there is no active threat at the mall after reported gunshots at DestinyUSA on Friday afternoon.

A social media update from the Syracuse Police Department said it was investigating shots fired near the Cinnabon location and ordered those inside to shelter in place.

Less than 20 minutes after the initial report, Syracuse police sent an update on Twitter that there was no active shooter in the mall and that the suspect had fled the scene.

The police closed the mall and ordered people inside to leave. No injuries occurred and the suspect is not in custody but the investigation is ongoing, the police said.
