As Black History Month comes to an end, the Syracuse Community celebrated at Syracuse University's Hendricks Chapel with music and a message of "Rough Blessings." The event was part of theDean's Convocations, a weekly gathering designed to bring the community together with rotating music and different topics of reflection.
Reverend Melvin Baker is an Associate Chaplain at Hendricks Chapel and spoke at the event on his experiences as a black man. Baker also talked about the conversations on race he has had with students and the faith he hopes the community can find in times of challenge.
Music at the event was performed by the Black Celestial Choral Ensemble of Syracuse University, the Hendricks Chapel Choir, and the Concert Choir.
