New York State has distributed nearly 70 million over the counter COVID-19 tests since the start of the year.
About 33 million have gone to schools, 19 million went to nursing homes and adult care facilities and 12.5 million have gone to local officials for public distribution.
The state has been cutting back on its in-person testing sites as at home kits becomes more popular.
However, according to a release from the governor’s office, they are retaining their contracts through June in the case demand increases. Onondaga County residents can order test kits online.
