Syracuse University is announcing nearly three dozen active COVID cases on campus as a new semester gets underway.
There are currently 34 active COVID-19 cases at the university, vice chancellor J. Michael Haynie reported in a statement.
Nine students who tested positive for COVID-19 are isolating in designated on-campus spaces, and 25 are in off-campus residences, a release from the school said. There are also 15 reported cases among faculty and staff, according to the notice.
The university has given all students four free at-home test kits. Students must have a positive test result notification form and isolate for at least five days after they’ve tested positive or at the first onset of symptoms. Students must also continue to isolate until symptoms conclude and they test negative.
