New York fighting to keep concealed carry gun laws intact

The State Attorney General’s Office has filed a motionin an attempt to keep New York’s concealed carry gun laws intact following a temporary restraining order issued by a federal judge last week.

The law prohibits guns in sensitive places, enhances safe storage requirements, requires background checks on ammunition purchases and social media reviews before certain gun purchases.

In a statement, Attorney General Letitia James calls theConcealed Carry Improvement Actcommon sense gun control legislation. James said the law is critically needed to reduce gun violence.
