New York State will begin a multi-year research effort into how climate change affects communities, ecosystems, and economies across the state. The Climate Impacts Assessment aims to help the New Yorkers understand and prepare for the future as the climate changes. They'll focus on projections of future climate conditions, economic impacts, and adaption strategies.

Around 80 individuals form over 60 different organizations across the United States and Canada will be involved with the research. The members are broken up into eight groups: Agriculture, Buildings, Ecosystems, Energy, Human Health and Safety, Society and Economy, Transportation, and Water Resources.

The resources and information is expected to be released to the public in early 2023.
