Syracuse Launches New Winter Weather Operations Tool

ischool.syr.edu

The city of Syracuse is launching a new winter weather operations tool for preparing the upcoming snowy season.

Mayor Ben Walsh announced this real-time data processing engine will produce an online map for residents to monitor street plowing situations. The map allows residents to see what and when streets have been plowed. Additionally, it will identify the locations of illegally parked cars.

We can use our increasing smart city capabilities to equip residents with the right tools to help them safely and easily navigate through winter. The data and insights our snow operations team will gain from the tool will also allow us to more efficiently and cost-effectively deliver services to residents,” said Mayor Walsh.

People can now access then map and find more information on the City’s Snow Safety page.
