Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF cancelled evening on-campus classes and events ahead of the winter storm coming to the region. While in-person classes and activities scheduled for 5 p.m. or later will not take place, online classes will go on as planned.

Some SU services will remain open or adjust their hours:

  • All residence halls and dining centers will remain open.
  • Goldstein Student Center on South Campus and Schine Student Center on North Campus will close at 9 p.m.
  • Barnes Center recreation activities will close at 9 p.m.; all other satellite recreation facilities, such as Ernie Davis and Tennity Ice Pavilion, will close at 5 p.m.
  • Bird Library will close at midnight tonight and reopen at 8 a.m. tomorrow; Carnegie Library and the King + King Architecture Library will close at 5 p.m.
  • Interfraternity Council recruitment kick-off will move to a virtual format. Fraternity and Sorority Affairs will send details to potential new members later this afternoon.

Campus buses and shuttles will maintain their schedule for the rest of the day, but they could experience delays.
The COVID-19 testing center at the Stadium is scheduled to re-open tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. Any change to that schedule is expected to be announced Friday morning, according to SU News Services.
