Deputies were dispatched to the town of Clay home of Deputy Isaac Eames arrived shortly after 7:30 a.m. Eames was pronounced dead at the scene.

Multiple ambulances were sent to the home and two of Eames's family members were rushed to the hospital. Onondaga County Legislator Chris Ryan, a member of the public safety committee, offered condolences to the family.

It’s an awful tragedy and a tragic loss of life whether it’s a county employee that works in public safety or it’s anybody," Ryan said. "For me and I think everybody else, our hearts go out to the family because it’s just awful.“
