Five Peaks Animation and broadcasting station WCNY are collaborating to help develop the animation industry in Central New York. The organizations will be working together to develop and produce several educational television series with accomplished animators in the region.

The organizations will also collaborate with the Central New York STEAM High School to launch a pilot program where students will be provided with skills training and jobs. Students will have an opportunity to learn 2-D and 3-D animation, illustration, visual effects, scriptwriting and audio production.

The series of educational shows will cover reading and classic literature, oceanography, wildlife conservation and also teach Zoology. Five peaks will begin to train students in Syracuse City Schools and other local school districts at Syracuse city schools until the STEAM School opens.
