Another airline launched its first seasonal non-stop service to Tampa, Florida over the weekend.
Southwest Airlines will become the second airline to offer this service. They will offer the non-stop route every Saturday through Sept. 3. The option is in addition to the same plane and connecting service the airline already offers daily and year-round.
Adam Decaire, vice president of network planning for Southwest Airlines, said in a news release that Syracuse residents now have options to reach the Gulf Coast and warm-weather destinations. But he said it also means residents in warmer climates will be able to escape to Central New York and the Finger Lakes this summer.
