Ithaca has 123 new affordable apartment units with the completion of the Ithaca Arthaus. The $32 million arts-focused development was funded by New York's Homes and Community Renewal. It not only has affordable apartments, but also includes 40 supportive housing units reserved for young people in need of services to live independently.
The building also includes two spaces on the ground flood dedicated to engaging citizens in art and theater related activities. The Cherry Gallery provides a visual arts exhibit space and the Cherry Studio will serve as a gathering and rehearsal space.
Ithaca Arthaus is located on Cherry Street, close to the Ithaca and Greyhound bus station as well as retail shops.
