Mobile crisis teams sent to respond to mental and other behavioral distress calls may soon have another tool to alert the public. State Assembly-member Bill Magnarelli’s “Green Lights for Mobile Crisis Vehicles” legislation has been passed by the Assembly and Senate. Green lights can be used to alert the community when mobile response teams are engaged with an emergency operation and alert drivers to pull over to allow emergency vehicles to pass through. The legislation will now be sent to the Governor Hochul for her approval.
