Four Central New York gun violence prevention programs will receive funding from the state to support and expand their efforts.

State Sen. John Mannion announced a total of $50,000 will be shared among the organizations. The Center for Court Innovation will receive the largest award of $20,000. OGs Against Violence, Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, and the Syracuse Mayor’s Office to Reduce Gun Violence will all be awarded $10,000.

The organizations said in a statement that they plan to use the money to offer more violence intervention trainings, support existing staff and expand youth programming opportunities.
