The City of Syracuse promotes one of its current employees to the role of Director of Minority Affairs.
Previously the city's Construction Development Coordinator, Youlanda Hudgins-Johnson will now oversee operations for the city’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) program.
“In her work for city government and in her day to day life, Youlanda is helping Syracuse achieve its vision of being a growing city. As a business owner, she understands the opportunities and challenges faced by businesses wanting to connect with the City,” said Mayor Ben Walsh in a statement released Tuesday.
Hudgins-Johnson will review applications to certify and support growth of MWBE’s and will also serve as the City Compliance Officer for Joint Schools Construction Board projects. She will also oversee compliance of inclusion goals negotiated in city contracts.
