Local debates planned for candidates vying to replace Katko

The Democratic and Republican candidates in New York’s 22nd Congressional district agreed to multiple debates ahead of the November election.

Democrat Francis Conole said in a release Wednesday the debates will be hosted by Syracuse Post Standard and ABC Channel 9. The dates and times of these debates are not yet available.

Republican Brandon Williams and Conole are running to take the spot of retiring Republican Congressman John Katko in the new 22nd district.

The last day to mail new voter registration to the Onondaga County Board of Elections is Oct. 14. Election Day is Nov. 8.
