The Syracuse area UPS facility is one of many companies ramping up its annual holiday hiring blitz.

The delivery giant is seeking more than 825 seasonal workers in this area alone, and 60,000 nationwide to handle the huge volume of holiday packages expected this season.

"With major retailers announcing holiday deals long before Cyber Monday, it’s more important than ever that we staff up now to meet the demands of the busy holiday shipping season,” said UPS Executive Vice President and President of U.S. Operations Nando Cesarone.

UPS is holding its hiring event "UPS Brown Friday" this Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its East Syracuse center, located at 6975 Northern Blvd. The mail company is looking to hire seasonal delivery and CDL drivers, warehouse workers and driver helpers.

Those interested in applying but are unable to attend the event can also participate in a virtual information session andapply online.
