More disruptions are coming to Southwest passengers flying out of the Syracuse Hancock International Airport, after the airline canceled thousands of flights across the U.S.

Southwest canceled nearly 3,000 flights Tuesday, according to the flight tracking website Flight Aware.

In Syracuse, Southwest will decrease flights out of the airport over the next few days, the company said in an email to WAER News. Southwest said it plans to only fly about a third of its regular flights out of Hancock. Southwest would not agree to an interview but said customers affected by cancellations should contact the airline directly.

Southwest offers daily direct flights between Baltimore Washington International Airport and Syracuse. But the airline’s website shows its recently scheduled flights between the cities has been canceled or significantly delayed. Only one departed on time.

The Syracuse airport declined an interview but said it continues to be fully operational and encourages travelers to check their website and airline-specific websites for flight updates.
