State police issued nearly 3,000 traffic tickets in Central New York as part of a national holiday DWI crackdown from mid-December through New Year’s Day.

There were 41 DWI arrests and 753 speeding tickets in the region.

Statewide, nearly 33,000 drivers received tickets during the campaign.

Other offenses included distracted driving, child restraint-seat belt, and not following the Move Over law to keep police, emergency responders, and tow truck operators safe.
