Syracuse's Jim Boeheim won't be completely leaving the Orange after stepping down as the head coach of the men's basketball team.
Athletic Director John Wildhack said Boeheim will still have a role at the university. Wildhack didn’t elaborate during a morning news conference Friday, but he said Boeheim will likely have a hand in recruiting.
“Coach Boeheim can help our other programs. He’s the biggest lacrosse fan there is," Wildhack said. "You may not know that, that’s his favorite sport. He’s also at every home football game. So we’re going to put him to work, I guarantee you that.”
Wildhack was joined by Boeheim and incoming head coach Adrian Autry at an official presentation Friday.
Tune in to WAER at 8 p.m. for a special edition of SportsNight on Boeheim’s departure.
