The Manlius Tops grocery store has added extra security after a 20-year-old Jamesville man threatened to kill people at the location.

Manlius police say Zachary Mullen made threats on the social media site Discord. Residents alerted the store, which then informed police. Manlius police say Mullen was arrested for making terroristic threats, some of which were racist in nature. The charge is a class-D felony.

Police confiscated guns from Mullen’s residence that he shares with his mother and said he was allowed to return after being granted pre-trial release. Officials say he will be monitored by police and probation officers.

Authorities say he was distraught over the recent death of his father.
