Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor has received a nearly $9,500 grant for providing an enhanced experience along the popular trail. The corridor is a large tourism destination that is connected by more than 500 miles of waterway.

The grant from the Small Grants and Initiatives fund at the Central New York Community Foundation will go toward adaptive recreation along the Erie Canalway Trail by allowing people to trace history as part of the new Canalway Challenge. The challenge encourages all forms of mobilization on the canal system and Canalway Trail.

Those with mobility challenges are encouraged to participate using adaptive cycling videos filmed on the Erie Canalway Trail.
