A local nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse is looking for new leadership.
Vera House announced Monday it is launching a nationwide search for a new chief executive officer.
The organization's co-Executive Director Randi Bregman resigned and Co-Executive Director Angela Douglas was terminated after CNY Central reported the agency knowingly hired a level-two sex offender to work as a victims advocate.
The nonprofit organization is tapping DHC Search, an executive recruitment firm that specializes in non-profit hiring, to lead the national hunt.
The organization said it is "looking for a candidate with strong human service and/or trauma-informed experience, as well as the capacity to effectively manage the responsibilities of organizational leadership," according to a news release from the group.
