This week marks National Volunteer Week and The United Way of Central New York is looking for more than 1,000 volunteers to sign up for its CNY Day of Caring event this summer.
The group had more than 850 volunteers last summer who were able to work 95 nonprofit projects in one day.
The date for this year’s event is set for Aug. 3. Companies, groups, individuals and members of nonprofits can join.
While specific volunteer opportunities will be posted soon, those interested can sign up in advance and look at the recent needs section to see ways to help right now.
