Syracuse police sending bullet-proof vests to Ukraine

Dozens of bullet-proof vests donated by the Syracuse Police Department are gathered together to be sent to Ukraine.

The Syracuse Police Department announced its donation of more than 200 retired ballistic vests and helmets to the Ukrainian humanitarian organization Ukraine Focus.

Medical and first aid supplies were also included in the department's donations, including tourniquets, medical bags, burn kits, and additional first aid supplies were also included in the department's donations.

The donation this week in Syracuse’s Public Safety Building included Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh, Police Chief Joseph Cecile and Brock Bierman, and the CEO of Ukraine Focus.

The items donated will be distributed among the Kyiv Police Department.
