Federal employees working without pay at Syracuse’s Hancock Airport will be getting a helping hand from travelers. The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) will hold 3 food drives this week, asking travelers and other local residents to donate non-perishable food.

Airport Authority Director Jason Terreri says T-S-A workers, air traffic controllers, and other federal employees are affected.

“Despite going without a paycheck since October 1st, our federal partners continue to show up to work to help keep our airport running safely, securely, and efficiently,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri.  “Our airport community – including members of the traveling public – recognize that without our federal partners, the airport will not be able to operate.”

Donations can be dropped off curb-side at terminal ‘A’ Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov 5, 6 & 7 of this week , 8:00am to 4:00pm.
