An investigation into a stolen motorcycle by New York State Police resulted in the confiscation of more than 40 illegal and stolen firearms.
Troopers say they arrested 26-year-old Clayton Carley and 60-year-old Jeffrey Carley in Homer. they were each charged with a range of weapons possession, theft and drug offenses.
Authorities found information about the stolen bike on Facebook Marketplace, leading them to the address. Investigators interviewed Clayton Carley, whom they described as evasive and uncooperative.
Troopers obtained a search warrant, and they found numerous handguns, rifles and assault weapons, in addition to knives, illegal drugs and cash.
The dirt bike had been sold to a person in Buffalo. Troopers said they were able to recover it; the buyer was cooperative.
Both Clayton Carley and Jeffrey Carley were in the Cortland County jail.
